Friday, June 12, 2009 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM (GMT)
Organized by Cycling 4 Gaza
in aid of MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians)
at the Khalili Lecture Theatre, SOAS (main building)
at 6.30 pm
hosted by the SOAS Palestine Society
Join us for a one-off screening of the critically acclaimed Palestinian film, Divine Intervention. Elia Suleiman's award-winning masterpiece, nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes film festival, is a tragic comedy that portrays a day in the life of an ordinary Palestinian. An overwhelming sense of absurdity runs through this surreal, sometimes hilarious, often deeply saddening, film.
This evening has been organised by a youth initiative called Cycling for Gaza. Cycling for Gaza is made up of a group of young people who set up an initiative to raise funds for MAP, and to raise awareness of the ongoing crisis in Gaza. The group will be cycling from London to Paris from the 2nd to the 4th of July in support of the people of Gaza.
All proceeds on the evening will go to MAP, in support of their health projects in Gaza
